UWF Dazz Band Joy Stick

UWF Dazz Band Joy Stick

The Sony Ericsson W200i is a basic lower/mid-range handset that is designed to appeal to those looking for a device that can make calls and texts for a low price with a minimum of fuss.

First thing to take a look at is the build of this handset, which considering the price of approximately £50 & under SIM free or Pay As You Go is exemplary and much better than I was expecting.

In terms of the dimensions, the W200i is a pretty standard size, measuring at 18mm thick and weighing 85 grams which makes it good to hold in hand and is relatively decent all-round. The only part that I had issue with was the joystick. With the W880i, as well as the forthcoming W890i, I was hoping that Sony Ericsson would follow their recent trend and abolish joysticks in favour of the more conventional (and usable) standard 4-way D-pad, but with the W200i the joystick unfortunately still remains.

As is commonly the case with controls of this kind, the joystick feels stiff and a little unresponsive. As well as this, it is a little too easy for your finger to slip off of the joystick possibly onto one of the nearby soft keys or cancel button which does prove to be very irritating.

Now that the only real gripe I have with the Sony Ericsson W200i is out of the way, we can get onto what features you get with this budget mobile phone. For the price, you would expect the features to be relatively basic and this is the case, but there are some little quirks here that do make it less boring than it might otherwise appear.

Included is GPRS; a VGA camera; 1.8” display; FM Radio with RDS; Walkman music player and compatibility with the Sony Ericsson M2 memory card format. You also have USB connectivity and infrared, but bizarrely Bluetooth isn’t present; I suppose for the money you can’t expect this, but still this is something that many people will miss having.

As this is a W-series handset, you would expect it to excel in the music functions and this does prove to be the case as even though the features themselves won’t stand comparison with the higher-end Walkman phones, this still performs well enough to consider using this function regularly. The MegaBass sound-enhancement feature does also add to the appeal of using the W200i as a stand-alone music player.

Overall, the Sony Ericsson W200i is a good basic handset that is only really let down by the irritating joystick and lack of Bluetooth, but it may be worth bearing in mind that at such a low price (approx £50) you can’t really go wrong. Well worth recommendation.

Regardless of your configuration, to keep the motors from moving via gravity, you will need to apply a holding current to the motors between moves.

Stepper motor can work, I would just buy an off-the-shelf multi-axis stepper motor controller, then build a small micro-processor-driven joystick to send commands to the controller.

Servos will work too, but maybe not as cheap as steppers.

If you fly GA (general aviation) ‘planes then the CH Products yoke and pedals are the most appropriate.

If you fly fighters then one of the Saitek sticks is more realistic.

If you can buy the magazine “PC Pilot” over in the ‘States they often review new items of hardware. If you can’t get it easily it’s worth you considering a subscription.

Man, I hate that I lost TV-1. With that channel,I could watch Tom Joyner every Friday and then watch classic performances like this. I miss groups like this.

Use the numerical part of keyboard, this is also better in space, than using a joystick. Joysticks are better when flying in an atmosphere.

Don't forget reading the keyboard section of the manual.

If you have a notebook, there are tools around for changing the keyboard layout of Orbiter.

Dude, I got a used gamecube controller for 10 bucks at Game Crazy. My suggestion is to get a new one. It sounds like yours is broken. Especially if you’ve taken it apart and tried to fix it, and it still won’t work right.
Look on amazon, too. This one was cheap.

Takes me back to when I saw them at Disney World’s Valentine HeartBEAT in ’bout ‘84-’85.
Along with other cool groups like SOS, Evelyn King, Shannon. Still remember how cool it was to watch Shannon rise up from below on the “elevator stage” (Tomorrowland Theatre). During one of her songs I was the first one to reach out and shake her hand! -will never forget.

Well, it's really not an easy thing to do. Your best bet is to try and get a hold of an old controller and cannibalize it, but that might not work too well.
I have opened one up before (think it just uses small philips screws) and actually opened the joystick compartment, then tried to reset the innards (I did it by melting it back into position with a lighter, but glue is probably better). It tightened it up a bit, but it still wasn't ideal.
Unfortunately its just a casualty of the lower tech at the time. Great controller, but I'm glad analogue has evolved.

Good luck if you try it, and be very careful opening the joystick compartment – there's a spring in there that can fire out and get lost if you're not careful.

Human 2.0 has a clip of the monkey in it.
its a film about how humans are creating human/computer hybrids and how we will change our race with them.

you can find it on youtube.

he wasn’t playing a game, but trying to move a mechanical arm while attached to a brain reading device, finally the monkey stopped moving his arm and just used his brain.
