Numbers Radio Stations

Music is one of the great artistic achievements that can be found today. With the help of technology our computers have the ability of playing different types of music. While we can hear our music from the computer’s music player there are many online radio stations that we can access too. These radio stations will provide us with the best in music, talk shows, sports, news, and in some cases you can also get access to the local, international weather updates.

These are a small sampling of the many items that can be found with online radio stations. You will need to look through these different stations in order to find the type of music that you would like to listen to. As with live radio stations there are many different types of online radio stations that you have the chance of hearing. This therefore increases your chance of finding really great music.

Some of these online radio stations will have music videos that you can see while you are listening to the music. If you like the music you will be able to see more information about that particular group’s other music releases. As you see just like their counterparts the live radio stations the online radio stations provide you with an inexpensive platform to hear the newest music releases.

For the person who wants to listen to online radio stations there is a wide choice of stations that you can look into. These radio stations are ones that we are all familiar with or we have heard about. Many of us have probably looked these online radio stations over as we searched for the station which could provide us with the services which we wanted.

These online radio stations are the popular ones like MSN Radio, Galaxy Radio, Yahoo Radio, AOL Radio and others. While each of these stations has different ways of operating they are designed to allow the listener the chance to see what is being offered at these venues. There is however a drawback to using some of these online radio stations.

The drawback is that some of these online radio stations require that you furnish them with personal details so that you can become a member before you are allowed further access into the radio site.

Luckily to counteract this type of online membership there are other alternatives. These alternatives simply mean looking for online radio stations which are free for all users. With these online radio stations you can listen to the music that you want 24 hours a day, seven days of the week and 365 days of the year.

In the United States, FM radio stations end in odd numbers, but AM stations do not. We are grieved to report there is absolutely no reason for this. A long time ago somebody at the FCC made the call, and that's the way it's been ever since.
The FCC is responsible for divvying up the radio spectrum for commercial use. It has assigned spectrums for cell phones, baby monitors, radio-controlled cars, air traffic controllers, and even the Mir space station. At this point, much of the process of assigning bandwidths simply depends on what's still available.

As HowStuffWorks explains, FM radio operates between 88 and 108 megahertz, or millions of cycles per second. Individual stations are allotted 200 kilohertz (thousands of cycles) "slices" between odd number fractions: 90.1, 90.3, 90.5, etc.

AM radio, however, operates between 535 kilohertz and 1,700 kilohertz (note: that's kilohertz, not megahertz), and the stations have even-numbered call signs: 610, 620, etc. FM operates at a higher frequency than AM simply because it came later: AM radio started in the '20s, but FM didn't become popular until much later.

Hope You and Yours
Have a Merry Christmas!
and a Happy New Year !

During World War II the Jap Navy sent coded groups of five numbers each….each set of five numbers had a specific meaning such as “ring up flank speed on heading 217″ or “contact logistics Borneo on 346 kc on midwatch”….these were known as “book codes” and were entirely different from the “Purple Code” or electromechanical (based on German Enigma) code machines used by the Diplomatic staff….the Japanese Naval Code was almost too easy for American cryptographers to break….Purple was NOT.

The most probable explanation is that they are transmitting coded instructions to intelligence agents ("Spies") in the field.
This has of course been neither confirmed nor denied by any nation.

no, but, in the US, all FM radio stations end in .1, .3, .5, .7, or .9. THis is to space them out enough so that they do not overlap each other. In the US, AM radio stations on the other hand are in steps of 10 KHz, i.e. 670, 680, 690 etc. In other countries it may be different depending on the rules and the type of service. Most of Europe for example has the AM and short wave staions in steps of 9 KHz. Different strokes for different folks, but that is the individual countries right. To maintain compatiblity of equipment most countries have gone with the standard US style FM radio steps of odd numbers, but some start higher on the band, instead of 88.1 like the US, they might start at 100.1

Mass surverys!
The get this by sampling a 1000 people in particular area – their TV / Radio habits, and so on… then they multiply to estimate the totals.

HOWEVER, the newer cable boxes, can send back information to your cable company about which channel you are watching – but I doubt they would be able to use it without your permission.

they’ve gone far beyond that technology now, they can now listen in on you through your fm radio, me and my friend found this out one day, whoever was listening to us even communicated to us through the stereo, kind of messing with us, for the longest time i thought it must have been some type of ghost or something, till i realized it might be some type of government spy technology, its either a ghost or some sort of spy tech stuff, i dont think it was a ghost.

Very curious, I’d vaguely heard of numbers stations but didn’t actually know what they were.

I could believe some of them could well be broadcasting secret intelligence messages – equally the aim could be to waste the time of rival intelligence organisations by spamming the airwaves with meaningless … er, number gibberish?

What is really creepy (to me anyways), is this all sounds like something plucked from Stephen Kings “Dark Tower” series. How do we know these stations weren’t created by North Central Positronics? LOL

There are a LOT of stations in Ohio with these numbers…you really need their “code” as well ex. 95.3 WKTN- Kenton, OH or 92 Zoo. If you have the “code” it would be easier to find out. Here is what I came up with though:

98.1 WKDD- (Akron, OH) (330) 836-4700
94.1 WVMX- (Cincinnati, OH) (513) 763-5725 / (513) 763-5500
94.1 Mix- (Cincinnati, OH) (513) 749-6499
88.1 WBCL Wbcj- (Spencerville, OH) (419) 647-2009

If these aren’t the numbers you were wanting, maybe it’ll help you figure out how to find the numbers needed. you can go to hxxp://www.whitepages.com and fill in as much as you can name, city, state, etc.

I remember picking one up on my cheap hifi in the late 80’s and being very weirded out by the experience, then in the late 90’s I recieved a promotional Conet Project CD from Irdial disks and immediately remembered that experience i’d had as a kid and i’ve been fascinated by them ever since.

Check out some of my vids :) As for a radio, almost anything with single side band tuning will do – but even the most cheapest shortwave radio will pick up the Cuban numbers station, for instance, with a long wire antenna.
